Where is BEETLES ABOUT Wedding Car Hire based?
We are based on the Wirral Peninsula in the North West of England.
Do you take bookings from all over the UK?
We are based on the Wirral, our standard prices relate to wedding car hire within a 30 mile radius of our base.
What vehicles do you have?
Presently we have 'Alfie' Split screen vintage VW Camper Van. He is a gorgeous white and cream colour with chrome
hubcaps and a luxury cream interior.
Chauffeured or self drive?
All vehicles are chauffeur driven. We take away the stress, allowing you to enjoy every moment of your day.
Do you just take bookings for weddings?
Yes weddings and civil ceremonies are our specialty, please CONTACT US for more information. Unfortunately we are not allowed to drive for proms or special occasions as the council require a private hire plate to do this. Please note we have limitations for the insurance that do not cover us for hire after 7pm.
How much will my booking cost?
All of our bookings are priced individually to accommodate our customers special requirements that are unique to them, therefore price is on application. For guide prices see our Pricing page.
Will I have to pay a deposit?
Yes, a non-refundable deposit of £50 of the total booking fee is required to secure the booking. If the booking is made under 28 days prior to the event then the full balance must be paid. Bookings are held unsecured as a gesture of good will for a maximum of 7 working days after this period it will be assumed that our services are not required.
When do I have to pay the balance of my booking?
The balance is required 14 days prior to the date of the event by cheque.
How can I pay?
At Beetles About we accept Personal Cheques, Bank Transfers or Cash.
Is the service you offer graded by price?
Our service is the same A1 service for everyone and is not based on "the more you pay the more you get"!
How do I make a booking
Please complete the BOOKING form and we will get back to you within 24 hours to enclose a quote and inform you of our availability for your big day. Once we have confirmed our availability we will request a £50 deposit to confirm your booking.
Can we come to see the vehicles?
We are always happy to receive visitors or we can bring the car to you. Appointments to view our cars can be made during the week after 7 pm and on some weekends (we're generally not available on Saturdays!). You will be made to feel very welcome. Please note viewing is strictly by prior arrangement.
Will you confirm my booking?
We will confirm with a booking receipt within 24 hours. We like to keep our customers fully informed at every step of the way, this is reassuring but avoids any possible misunderstandings. We keep in full contact throughout and welcome correspondence and calls from our customers too.
Can we have more than one trip for the campervan?
Alfie our VW Camper is hired for on average 3 to 4 hours, so we can accommodate as many trips for the bridal party or grooms men as required.
What do your drivers wear?
Our Chauffeur is always immaculately dressed in a dark tailored suits, shirt and tie. We have found this approach to be less rigid helping to create a more relaxed atmosphere, which in turn makes our chauffeur more amenable.
DECORATING THE CAR/CAMPER
Do I have to have a white ribbon on the vehicles?
You can choose any colour ribbon for the car & camper especially if you have a particular colour scheme in mind for your day and you would like to follow this through with the vehicles. The choice is yours!
We also dress the interior of the camper with vintage style bunting, please tell us what your colour scheme is so we can accomodate this.
Will there be time to have photographs taken?
Photographic opportunities are extremely important at your wedding, therefore we are highly flexible and give maximum time prior to the wedding ceremony and after the ceremony for photographs to be taken. Our chauffeurs always do their utmost to work with your chosen photographer, manoeuvring the cars to get the perfect shot, something they are well practiced in. So remember to smile!
Are the camper available exclusively to the Bride and Groom?
Our camper van is ideal for other members of the bridal party, to include the Mother and Father of the Bride or Groom and of course bridesmaids and grooms men. Please be advised we are unable to transport groups of people outside the immediate bridal group as we are not a hackney carriage company and as such are not insured for this type of conveyance.
Will our car be clean after it's long journey?
We travel all over Merseyside & Cheshire with our cars and of course on our far flung adventures the camper does pick up its share of muck along the way depending on the weather. We always allow plenty of cleaning time before any event so that our camper van arrives looking at it's very best time after time.
What if our camper breaks down on the day?
Our camper van is regularly serviced and checked to ensure that this eventuality doesn't become reality. However this is not to say that we are not realists and that a breakdown couldn't happen especially as all of our cars are getting on a bit! Therefore for peace of mind we have the following plans in place: 1. All of our drivers are AA covered, 2. All of our drivers have some VW VW Camper van mechanical knowledge to enable them to make an educated diagnostic decision, 3. The cars carry basic spares, 4. If it is within our power we will substitute the broken down car with one of the other cars.
Do you allow children to travel in the vehicles?
We do, however due to the camper van being over 50 years old and has classic vehicle status it does not have seatbelts and with our duty of care we advise that children under the age of 3 do NOT travel in our camper van. Children over the age of 3 are permitted to sit in the back without seat belts. If you are unsure ask us.
Does the car/camper have good luggage space?
Luggage space is limited therefore please check with us first if there is anything in particular that you need carried.
Do you supply Champagne?
We most certainly do, we understand that a drop of bubbly is essential for all newly weds! We like to spoil you on your special day, so along with the specially selected complimentary Champagne you will also be given a selection of chocolates presented in a handmade box. Our aim is to make sure you have a truly wonderful time.
What would happen in extreme weather conditions?
In the event of extreme weather conditions and absolute impossible driving conditions disabling the operation of our camper van, a full refund will be offered. It may be advisable to ensure you have wedding insurance for any eventuality.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
What if we need to make a cancellation?
We appreciate that sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances customers do need to cancel bookings. As set out in our terms and conditions we do not refund deposits. However, if the full balance has been paid 6 weeks prior to the booking date then we will refund 75% of this amount minus the deposit (subject to terms and conditions). If a cancellation is made after the 6 week cut off period then no refund will be offered. Wedding insurance is advisable.
